August Library Visit

Every month there's always a trip to the Jurong East regional library together with teachers and friends.

This time round , the 2nd time for big D and as per teacher he is engrossed with the books...

Learning the letter "U"

We received an SMS from school seeking parents cooperation to help the kiddos to bring a Brolly to school on Last Friday. Apparently to enhance kiddo's learning on the letter 'U' ( can't believe that already the PN class already reached the last fews letter of the alpha set )
Anyway where to find a kiddo size umbrella while mummy is stuck at home due to confinement? Online? Guess big D has to depend on his daddy to bring one home or he has to bring an oversized Brolly to school.
Daddy did a good job ( with mum's help- of coz) he brought home the kiddo size Ben 10 umbrella for the son!
If this goes on for all the 26 alphabets we are going to be cracking lots of head just finding the right props :)

So here's big d and his classmates fun day out at the fields (tracks) -outdoor learning on letter 'U' ( he better remember letter 'u' cost dad 10 bucks :)

Milk monster never changes his spots

Darius never fail to surprise us!
His teacher has managed to snap down how this little guy process his thoughts- finding the correct milk bottle:)

Darius Childcare Days - July2012

Darius's Racial Harmony Day @ School

It was racial harmony day on 20 July 2012 ( What an eventful start for Darius @ CC)
As usual the responsible parents searched for a Costume, knowing he need something light and breezy

Trying to coax him so we can leave for work ( this is considered the 5th Day @ school)
Chasing after mummy and about to throw tantrum

As usual Teacher ling ling with the photos to make the working parents day @ work.

So Mummy grabbed some photos from Mulberry FB

Remember - GrandMa GrandPa ♥ Darius

Darius @ ChildCare (contd on Day3)

Day 3 - 18 July 2012
The last day of parents taking leaves to accompany little boy to school. From tomorrow on wards, sorry, its all on YOUR own.
The plan was to let him into school for the full day... and grandparents to fetch.

Day 3 started really good with Darius hugging "mo" to school and the usual routine of inspecting the garden before heading onto Daddy's car.

Having a great time on the way to school ( of course, mummy feeding the cereal bar + there's a Ball for play + Video is on " Playtime with Ernie")

This Picture just made Mummy feel so bad .... Looking at the young boy interacting in class but having this blur look ... so ..... " Hai yoh" feel like bringing him home.

Nap time and very well adjusted, Thanks to Teacher Ling Ling for the photos. Grandma has some comment : When Seeing Big D with his toys ( "Mo" and Big Bird) makes her feel like he is like a nomad... moving here to there...

Darius quickly adjusted to childcare and lasted until 545, but as per Teacher Ling Ling, for younger kiddo ( our plan was to fetch him @ 645) So a major change of plans and routine have to be reconsidered....He was crying as he sees his friend being picked up and leaving saying bye bye... Poor Kiddo... Sorry Darling!

Darius @ ChildCare

It has been almost close to 2 weeks + since Darius starting attending Childcare (full day , 8am- 530pm @ Mulberry Jurong East. He is in the PN class

Let's take a look at some snap shots on the 1st day at school on 16 July 2012 (of course, Daddy and Mummy accompanied him up to 1230pm.... Woooo... tiring. we took leave ok!)

Day 1( 17 July 2012)
We (Parents) tried to make a super duper happy night before and a good morning for Big D.
He had his way, strolling along the small garden, curiously wondering how come there's this extra item- The Chuggington School bag :). Of course, not forgetting his great pal - Elmo for security.

When we reached, Big D is really interested in having cereal breakfast ( Food always have it's way with him), as the class moves on with activities, Big D never fail to check to double confirm daddy and mummy's presence. Occasional cries, tantrums and whimpers.... Bathing time we totally let Teacher to handle only to return with a comment " it was really bad"... I guess Big D just have to get use to the routine. y mid day, Big D is super hungry and SURPRISE! When he saw the food served in kiddo's bowl and spoon, he just naturally picked up spoon and scoop porridge into his mouth. Milestone achieved! We have been trying the get him to self feed but only managed to be successful with Macdonald's Pancake .... He can do it! - We call this survival needs. :)

Back home after dinner, Daddy suggest that to help him get use to bathing time at school, we gonna tie him up using towel same as what is done at school. He obviously hates it

Day 2 ( 17 July 2012)
We had plans to let Big D try to be without Parents for Day 2.
The usual prepping Big D with ' happiness' in the garden, find the cat , touch the leaves...blah blah, then hop on to the car with Sesame street video of Elmo/Ernie and grover singing their lungs out.
Great, en we arrived we greeted with one Good news and another Not so good ( well let's forget about the bad news)
Day 2 is library visit day - Jurong Regional Lib, that's where those Kiddos are heading to at 930am~
omg - the very thought of the last visit to the same lib just made daddy and mummy face turned green. We warned teachers - The last time we brought him there , he threw a terrible two tantrum and cleared ( or MESS, pull...) all the kiddo books on one very shelf ALL ON THE FLOOR.... daddy had to drag him out and the librarian reprimand both Father and son, while Mum with a big tummy gathered help from other kind angels to put those books back.
And now, Day2 of childcare - He is going to the lib? Teachers suggest we meet him there while he takes the bus together with the rest. Darius was pulled away from us and had assembly in the " Lab" where they did singing and interactives. Teacher Erna managed to stop him from those tears...and we sneaked away for breakfast ( Old town @ Jcube) before walking across to Library.

By the time we reached, kiddos of Mulberry are already at basement level with their teachers. We became PAPARAZI...... take a look. He is fine without us... we observed him from far. For a split second - We are proud of him for being independent... * wink*

So Darius left with the group and we headed back to school to peep on him, So far since we left him in the care of Teachers , for Day 2, he has been coping well without our presence up to 11am.

And finally he fell asleep, we fetched him that's about 1pm. End of Day 2.
